Why Independent Matters
Most Houston mold companies offer “free” or low-cost inspections, then sell you the remediation. That’s a problem. When the same company finds the mold AND profits from removing it, the incentive to find problems where none exist is built into the business model.
Mold Testing Houston is structurally different. We are licensed exclusively as a Mold Assessment Consultant under the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). We don’t perform remediation, and we never will. Our entire business depends on the accuracy of our reports.
"Free" or cheap inspections. Profit comes from selling you $5,000 to $20,000 in remediation work. Every inspection is also a sales pitch.
Transparent $550 inspection fee. We test, we report, and you decide what to do. No upsells, no incentive to find problems that don't exist.
Ran founded Mold Testing Houston in 2017 with one rule: never combine testing with remediation. After seeing too many Houston families pressured into expensive cleanup jobs they didn't need, he built the company around independent assessment, period.
Nine years later, Ran personally oversees every inspection report MTH produces. The company holds Texas TDLR Mold Assessment Consultant license ACO1245, the highest credential for mold inspection in the state.

Same process every time. Independent visual assessment, lab-certified sampling, written report in 24 business hours, honest recommendation. No upsells. Sometimes the answer is “you don’t need remediation,” and that’s fine with us.
